Snapshot 18 No.180-189
189. Magnolia

The photo is magnolia at Kawamura Art Museum.
It seems to take a few days more to be in full bloom.

188. Out of focus to a great degree

The photo shows killifishes under wintering indoors at my place. With the intensifying sunlight, they have been getting active.
It is more difficult than I initially thought to shoot them swimming in the water beyond the curved glass pane. One of the out-of-focus pictures is uploaded here, for comparison with a later date trial.

187. Naritasan 2

This is an old style postbox placed at the entrance of a museum behind Yoneya along the worshippers' street to Naritasan. It might be said to be a strange design.

186. Naritasan

Went to Naritasan today, at length getting more like spring.
There seemed no major event in the temple, and the parking lots and visitors' path were not congested at all.
The photo shows the entrance of the temple in the afternoon.

185. Mimosa

Mimosa has just started blooming.
This is the tallest one around my neighbourhood and most gorgeous.

184. Pyron rebuilding

Nr. 31 new pyron which is the next to the one in the Nr. 178 photo of this series. The new one looks twice as much higher than the old.
Since the new tower was built a little bit outside the old one as if the latter wears an overcoat, the old tower is still inside the new one.

183. Blossom at Daikan*
On walking Jiro in the morning going down from the upland, I noticed a tree with yellow blossoms in this frigid air. The tree name seems to be Roubai. On the way back, I also found another one, Biwa (loquat).
There are trees which bloom at this time of year said to be the coldest period.

* Daikan:
One of the 24 equally divided periods in a year (thus about 15 days each). Each segment is given a specific name representing that interval. The Daikan is the 24th and the last, and literally means great cold.
182. ERG satellite orbit maneuver completed

Photo is from ISAS website, notifying the perigee maneuver for the ERG.
With the maneuver, it was tranferred to the extended elliptical orbit, perigee 460 km and apogee 32,100 km. Thus it takes more than 9 hours to circle the earth.
Right, the orbit looks appropriate to the investigation of the Van Allen belts.

181. Celestial show

"Yoi-no-Myoujyou" (Hesperus/Venus) has been splendidly well seen these days.
Yesterday evening, the moon came just beside it.
As the moon's apparent diameter is to be 0.5 degree, they are apart each other by only 1 deg. or so.
I tried shooting them, holding my camera by hands with its auto-mode. Even the earthshine is shown in the resulting photo. The performance of digital cameras stands out in this type of situation.

180. Through screen

White-eyes come upon sasanqua blooming.
Fatsia nectar too seem to their liking.
I directed my camera without opening the screen so as not to frighten them.
As expected, the result is like taking a gauze, and no good as an ecological picture.
HOWEVER, as an ordinary photo, it is fully OK, isn't it?
